Guys, I am tired! This week was jam-packed with things to do and places to be. Weeks like this are exciting, but really tiring, too. I’m in the stage of my life where I feel like things are happening: work is busy, family life is vibrant, and there are celebrations and get-together’s pretty often. It’s a great time, and I’m thankful to have my friends and family close by.
Let’s Go Bucs
Alan was lucky to get free Pirate tickets to the game last Friday night against the Padres. The Pirates have had a tough season, but they won! We had a lot of fun (and the incredible seats were great, too!)
In the Heights
Last Sunday, I ventured back to my high school, Lincoln Park Performing Arts School. They always run a great performing arts series throughout the year. We saw “In the Heights,” a musical based on the book by Quiara Alegría Hudes with music by Lin Manuel Miranda.
The production quality of “In the Heights” was great and we had front row seats. The set was one of the best I’ve seen.
I had a lot of feelings going back to my old high school. It’s been eleven years since I graduated. Where does the time go? Truthfully, reminiscing and reflecting this week has put me in sort of a weird mental state. I’ve been trying to keep busy and not think about it too much.
Toastmaster’s Intro Speech
I joined the Toastmaster’s group at my work a few months ago. I gave my icebreaker speech on Tuesday. I was super nervous (and slightly shaky) but overall I think it went well! I received some great feedback.
The people in my group are so supportive and genuinely want one another to succeed. I’m glad I joined and I think it will make me a better public speaker in the long run.
‘Do one thing every day that scares you’, right?
Hope everyone has had a great week. TGIF!
