Hi, Spring!

It’s finally spring here in Pennsylvania. After what seemed like the longest winter ever, we are finally seeing some sixty degree days and blue skies. I’m sitting outside right now without a coat for the first time in about six months – so exciting! Spring is my probably my favorite time of year.

My anniversary and birthday are both in he spring. Alan and I will be celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary on April 25th. We don’t have any definitive plans yet, but I hope we can go somewhere, even if it’s just for a night. Also, I’ll be 29 this year in May. I can’t believe it; how am I almost 30?!

I love hearing the birds chirping again. To me, there’s nothing better than waking up with birds chirping outside my window. There’s something so hopeful and relaxing about nature sounds. It’s very quiet in the wintertime and I’ve missed hearing the birds and animals.

Spring clothes shopping is a lot of fun. After months of wearing burgundy, black, and brown, I am SO ready for some bright colors in my wardrobe. I realized this morning I hardly have any spring clothes (not sure where they all went – I guess they were lost in the move?) so I’ll definitely be doing a few spring outfit posts in the coming weeks.

April is Earth Month. I have been trying to “go green” and reduce my carbon footprint where I can. I love April because the whole month is designated as “Earth Month,” and April 22nd is Earth Day. Throughout April, I’ll be posting some “green” resources, websites, and inspiration that I have found to be helpful. I’m also thinking of doing a few simple eco-challenges in the coming days. Stay tuned on Instagram for more details on that.

Spring cleaning is amazingly therapeutic. Seriously, I get a burst of excitement when I think about deep cleaning closets! Anyone else feel that way? Spring is the perfect time to reassess your belongings, donate what isn’t needed, repurpose old things, and bring in the new.

I can finally go outside. I think I love spring most because it means I can finally go outside again. I always feel my best self when I can relax in nature and do some exploring.

What are your favorite things about spring?
